Goal 5 of the 2030 Agenda aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls: this means achieving equal opportunities for women and men in economic development, the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls, and equal rights at all levels of participation.<\/p>

CEPI has embraced the goals and common language of the 2030 Agenda, adopted by 193 UN member countries on September 25, 2015, to not only participate in the major global effort to transition to a sustainable development model, but also to communicate the motivations behind our actions simply and effectively. CEPI’s Code of Ethics<\/a> is built around the 5Ps of sustainable development, which group together the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda: People, Planet, Peace, Prosperity, and Partnership. It is the fifth of these goals that exemplifies our policy regarding gender and inclusion:<\/span> we recognize gender equality as an essential element in the affirmation of universal human rights, and the equal participation of women in the workforce as a strategic factor for the growth and development not only of companies, but of the economy and society as a whole.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

CEPI has historically recognized the numerous barriers to equality that women face both inside and outside the workplace, and their difficulty balancing work and personal life. The BLU DONNA project, launched in 2019, provides supplementary welfare services dedicated exclusively to female workers, aimed at improving their work-life balance. In 2023, we chose to develop a Policy and Strategic Plan to identify new actions to implement, formalize and systematize existing ones, and communicate both, in the firm belief that openness, visibility, and normalization are essential steps to achieving truly equal participation. <\/p>

Our actions fall into 10 broad areas: Career Management, Business Process Management, Pay Equity, Parenting and Care, Work-Life Balance, Prevention of Abuse and Harassment, Psychophysical Well-Being, Training, Management System, and Communication. The extensive reflection and extensive work undertaken to develop the Strategic Plan have resulted in a Decalogue, which summarizes our vision and commitment in ten simple points, in the hope that it will be embraced and shared by our partners. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The CEPI program<\/h2>

DNA analysis of the bones found in Viking grave Bj 581, located at the Birka archaeological site in Sweden, has confirmed that they belonged to a woman. For a long time, historians had assumed the burial was that of a man, as the presence of weapons indicated, in their opinion, the burial of a warrior. Similarly, archaeological research in recent years has debunked the myth that in prehistoric societies, men hunted and women gathered. According to a recent study conducted by Abigail Anderson of Seattle Pacific University and a team of international scientists, 79% of women in prehistoric societies hunted, including mothers. <\/p>

Throughout history, the present, and the future. Hunters, warriors, metalworkers. We have always been here, and always will be here, beyond the spaces and roles society assigns us. Visibility and participation have a real impact on women’s lives and are fundamental factors in the cultural shifts that accompany their emancipation, in the social, economic, and political spheres, in public and private relations. At CEPI, we decided to talk about hidden metals, celebrating the presence and contribution of women in a sector, the metalworking sector, which has always been associated with men. <\/p>

Hidden Metals is the name of a program that, in addition to the BLU DONNA program, includes opportunities for dialogue, investigation, awareness-raising, and growth. The adoption of the UNI\/PDR 125 guideline provided the opportunity to develop a comprehensive action plan aimed at making the corporate culture increasingly inclusive. Processes, control mechanisms, training: we hope to work together on these and much more in the coming months, creating, where possible, tools that can support our workers not only at work but also in their personal lives.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

6Following an audit conducted on April 29 and 30, 2024, we obtained certification according to the UNI 125 Standard, the Reference Practice for Gender Equality in Organizations. This standard requires the measurement, reporting, and evaluation of gender-related data in organizations with the aim of closing existing gaps and incorporating the new gender equality paradigm into the organizations’ DNA, thus producing sustainable and lasting change.<\/p>
